Assessment, intervention & consultationAs an educational psychologist working in private practice my work can be commissioned by parents, teachers, students, schools and universities. I usually complete assessments at my office, which is located in Coleford in the Forest of Dean, although I have regular commitments to a dyslexia centre. The focus of my assessment work is to discover the individual's strengths and to identify any areas of difficulty, to use the assessment profile to draw conclusions and suggest methods of support. Intervention work includes working with children, students, teachers and parents to aid the development of appropriate support strategies, whilst consultation and coaching sessions can be a helpful problem-solving process.
